Our fiber optic Ethernet Transport and Premium Internet Transit are based on advanced networking technologies and standards, tapping over 2500 route miles across Oregon. We deliver the speed, security, resilience and scalability to meet your district’s demands today with the assurance of future scaling as user needs grow.
Our Transit Service peers with a vast network of Northwest and national Internet Exchanges, providing fast, redundant connectivity so your connected digital classrooms and operational workflows can stay “always on”.
Secure Wi-Fi Roaming with eduroam
Link Oregon is the designated Support Organization for K-12 schools, museums and libraries in Oregon for eduroam —a federated Wi-fi roaming service offered by Internet2, a national Research & Education Network (REN). With eduroam, your K-12 students and faculty can use participating eduroam libraries, community colleges or any university campuses that are part of the eduroam network to securely log on using their home school credentials. We offer eduroam to all our K-12 member institutions.
Security
DDoS attacks are getting increasingly sophisticated, posing significant threats to educational institutions and resulting in student downtime, data vulnerabilities, loss of productivity, and in the worst scenarios, even severe institutional reputation harm. Our Premium Internet Transit Service includes DDoS detection and mitigation capabilities for both volumetric and protocol-based attacks, averting threats so services can run uninterrupted. Members are proactively kept informed of status until the issue is resolved.
Cloud Connectivity
Many K-12 ESDs rely on cloud infrastructure for data storage, backup and to deploy and host custom applications. We offer fast and private cloud connections to leading cloud infrastructure platforms, including Amazon’s AWS Direct Connect, Google Cloud Partner Interconnect, Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute and Oracle Fast Connect via the Internet2 Cloud Connect (I2CC) service.
